Auto Insurance SR22 Oregon
Reader’s Question:
Under what situation is an SR22 required by the Department of Motor Vehicles in my state in Oregon? Is an SR-22 only required for a DUI/DWI conviction?

The reasons that an SR-22 may be required are different in various state laws and statutes. The SR-22 in many states is required to reinstate your driver’s license after a DUI or DWI conviction but also for several other reasons.
For example in your state in Oregon the Department of Motor Vehicles requires that your insurance providers file an SR-22 certificate with DMV if (not a complete list):
* You failed to show proof to DMV that you have liability insurance,
* You have been charged of driving without auto insurance,
* You have been involved in an accident and uninsured,
* You are applying for a probationary or hardship permit
* At the time of reinstating your driver’s license following a DUII suspension
